this isn't directly related to eztv, but i thought someone might help. does
anyone have an idea how to install audio codecs on a dvd/divx player? i use mine
to watch the shows i download, but it doesn't support whichever audio codec was
used by some recent releases, such as er s13e2 and grey's anatomy s02e02.

or is my player going crazy since avicodec says they're both mp3 audio...

i have a xennon 6068, in case it means something to someone.

if you arent keen on the whole codec scene.. then you should avoid them entirely
by getting one of the standalone players that doesnt need codecs because
basically they are built in..

vlc is the most popular one... everyone should have vlc as a backup player
anyway in case their player of choice doesnt work.. it plays over 99% of all
media files you try to throw at it...

mplayer is also pretty popular..

youre right... my bad.. i was a little drunk when i responded...

you can flash upgrade most set-top boxes by burning a disc with the new firmware
and then going through some complicated button pushing event.. but each model
has a different way to do it, even within the same brand.. so you are best off
looking for your model's manual, or looking up some customer support on their site..
