dumb question but shouldn't this be s08e01 and it's 2010 and mythbusters run season as years?

yep, this should be s08e01. according to tv.com, which says it airs on 01/04/2010 (today/yesterday),
it's entitled "boomerang bullet"
s07e23 was the mini-myth marathon, which was the last episode in season 7. it aired on 12/28/2009.
hence, there is no s07e24.

but, that being said, it has boomerang as 725 , so i guess there was a double ep the scene named as one?

yeah some sites listed the double ep demolition derby special from a year ago as ep 1 and 2 but
others just as s07e01.
its just a pain when archiving to get the names right 🙂
eta - even http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mythbusters_episode_guide has it listed under 2010, as it
should be.
