ok, before this starts

print it, frame it, get over it

we all get them, we all still download

go get peerblock or peerguardian and move along

nice.

okay, well if they happen all the time, fair enough. i've only ever seen mention of these notices of copyright infringement
one time on eztv, and it was a cautionary warning like my comment was, so i thought i was doing the honorable thing by
informing other users. i'll keep word of such potential dangers to myself next time. didn't know i was starting a problem
by mentioning it.

thanks for the tip of those blocking programs, though. i've never heard of them but i'll go check them out now.

@elitenoobboy, comedy central's legal dept emailed my isp (in australia) a notice of copyright infringement, and they
contacted me (copying in the original email) to say basically 'cease and desist or legal action will be taken'. i can't imagine
how others just ignore this stuff without suffering any consequences, but if that's what you all do, that's cool. maybe
peerblocker is the way to go. thanks everyone for your comments and pms!

i used to use peerguardian2, but it started to go funky, and peerblock was suggested, nothing is
100% safe, but, since starting to use them, i haven't had a notice in 5 years

but, better to be safe, turn on encryption, use a blocker, keep the lists up to date, is about all
you can do aside from switching to newsgroups
