is anyone else amazed at how good smith is? like he is actually blowing my mind...

ye way better than david tennant, also doctor who moved up to my #1 favorite shows of the ones that
currently air

well yeah, he's good. however, do keep in mind that he's also new. aka different from the others.
you're not used to him yet.

eccleston was good too. and tennant was good too. eccleston didn't give us much of a chance to get
used to him, but tennant was there for several seasons, so we got used to him and any new actor gets
a "hey, finally a change!"-bonus. don't get me wrong --- smith doesn't live on that bonus, but it's
still there.

also, they "beefed up" the show when they restarted with the eccleston in the lead role, compared to
the old doctor who. it was still doctor who, but it was also more modern.
i would say they "beefed it up" again for season 5, although not such a big jump as before. they
made the doctor more "flashy" --- smith does a great job for sure, but that's not the only thing.
there's still writing and directing and whatever that plays a role as well.

as for amy... i guess we'll have to wait and see how they intend to develop her.
