can anyone explain how the episodes are numbered? by my count, this should be episode 24, and even
counting the hour-longs(niagra as single episodes (unlike the showrunners who consider them two) it
would be 21. any clarification on this would be really helpful.

this episode is actually episode 24. the show was renewed for 26 episodes this season.
this is the current schedule for the rest of the season:

e25 - may 13th
e26 - may 20th (season finale)

according to imdb this is episode 23, so i guess they are following what imdb says.
