chgrp screwed up the numbering of this series by not doing
the initial 2 hours as e01-e02, and 2hd jumped off the
cliff after them. in the interests of consistency we will
number this as e02, even though it\'s really e03.

yes, but this is the one episode that didn't have a scene release on its first run.

i think you are supposed to follow the original country release and episode numbering
so according to that the first episode was 2hours so the numbering is correct.
why don't americans realize they are not the center of the world.
the mods on tvdb have been screaming their head of for similar reasons when
american viewers edit the release order for anime series.

i second this. it's a canadian tv series, it airs in canada first, so follow the canadian episode
numbering.

i think you are all forgetting that this was a two hour movie pilot. as such it really was e01 (2
hrs) and e02 (1hr) is the first of the series :

i agree with the general convention of not making new numbering schemes when there's already a
sensible one in place, e.g., the canadian way of doing things or whatever.

there might be an exception for some series that was good enough to track, but had a goofball for a
numbering worker who just muffed everything up ... then a conversion chart would be necessary and
everything, but sometimes that could happen. i haven't seen it yet though.

btw, i have been giving thought to the problem of reairs and reedits -- ever since mythbusters did
that (with their "buster's cut" series during this dying season of tv) -- and i'm thinking, just a
tag in the torrent/filename title would be good like "reair" or "repeated material" or whatever.
something short and sweet and accurate and to the point. if you think of doing so, that is. that
would be professional: simple yet effective.

p.s., if this is "e2", then i noticed some series here in usa will say "e01-e02" for a two hour, or
even just "e01" for a double-long. i think it matters how it's aired: if it's "next episode coming
up -- don't tune away" during ads near the end of the first hour, then it's e02 for the 2nd hour,
otherwise if it's "extra long episode for the new season ..." then it's one episode, generally. i'm
not a pro on this, though, that's just how i understood it. therefore it matters how it was
advertised as it premiered, and if the producers themselves had a rigid numbering scheme they used
themselves. let's say they didn't match: "next episode coming up -- don't tune away" but the
producers numbered them both as "e01", then we might say "e01 (first two episodes aired as one)", or
if it was advertised as an extra-long and the producers numbered them "e01, e02", we might say
"e01-e02 (double episode)". just thoughts for the future.
