all i can say is this documentary was shocking yet didn't surprise me. one hell of a watch and a
must see movie if you live in a country where they drill for natural gas near residential homes and
cities.
even if you are not into documentaries i highly recommend watching this one! a couple of the things
they show and talk about in this movie will freak you out and make you go not only say no way, but
also wtf? and question how natural gas companies are allowed to do this without question and proper
regulation. i know the same holds true in the u.k. from some research i have done so if you are from
the u.k. you should watch this as well.
gasland (2009)
in his first documentary feature, director josh fox journeys across america to examine the negative
impacts of natural gas drilling, from poisoned water sources to kitchen sinks that burst into flame
to unhealthy animals and people. is natural gas a viable alternative to our dwindling energy
resources, or do the potential harmful effects outweigh the positives? fox's film raises these and
many more fascinating questions.

------
this is one few documentaries i have seen on the last few years that i recommend everyone watch
because it could effect you, yoyr family, or the people you love or care about in the near future.
the documentary is entertaining, but not the most factual. for example, the flammable drinking water
was debunked long ago. they tested it and found that the methane in that water actually came from
biogenic sources and not the deep natural gas deposits...it could not have been caused by the
fraccing. these people probably dug their water well right through a methane deposit.
sorry but i don't buy this, it is clear that fracturing the earth and screwing the drinking water is real, if
then there is methane too which also comes from the earth, the earth that was fractured how can you
say this is unrelated?
even if i assume you are correct about the methane not being from deep deposits, the point is that
fracking doesn't do a good job of discriminating, it doesn't just break up the earth around the deep
deposits.
however considering those with interests in having this continue i would also be skeptical that their
judgment is clear in any way including claims that is isn't from deep deposits.
water going on fire is not normal, to suggest that a well that previously delivered clean drinking water
now delivers toxic crap in the drinking water recognized to be due to the fracking, if this water is also
now newly flammable how can you really claim this is not due to fracking?
let me put this another way, show me cases of drinking water being highly flammable where fracturing
has not been practiced!
also, methane is methane and one must wonder how they would establish it was 'biogenic'?
could methane that moves through the deep deposits through the earth, through organic matter and into
water perhaps appear to be biogenic when it is not?
sorry but if you are at all honest you can't view that there is any likelyhood that all these flammable
drinking water cases are just a bizarre coincidence.

try not being such a gullible zombie m8. it was 'debunked' by a company hired by halliburton to
cover their ass.
