like the recently deceased flashback, this show seems as though it wants to spin out its plot over
the next five years. but, just like flashback, if the creator's don't pick up the pace of the
storyline soon it will die before its time as well.
the pilot started out just like three days of the condor. i expected james badge dale to volunteer
to pick up those forgotten donuts and come back to find everyone murdered. but, mercifully, the
plagiarism didn't extend that far.
very moody and beautifully filmed, but not a heck of a lot going on other than james badge dale
looking pensive and mumbling. arliss howard at least projects a vague menace while looking very
stylish for a spook.
the pilot's exteriors were filmed on location in new york (not toronto, thank god) and that kept me
watching. start doing all the shooting in canada and i'm gone. i love canada and canadians, but
they're not new yorkers, chicagoans, washingtonians, angelinos, etc., and it shows and is a
distraction and sometimes a detriment.
oh yeah, there was another bit of plagiarism -- the final scene taken directly from the x-files
(which was taken from the godfather). if ever a series needed some originality, this is it. all this
referencing of other productions doesn't bode well for the future. it makes it seem as though the
creators have hit the wall before leaving the gate.

i'll give james dale badge a chance after the pacific but this series seems like something for the
long haul, like mad men without christina hendricks, jon hamm or john slattery.
