@anonymous - no the immerse rips are still suspect. 720p rips for episode 08 (from internal) are
already out on usenet. they work fine on the wd hdtv. look in alt.binaries.multimedia

guys thank you for caring enough to post but please read the question.
anonymous has a hardware based media player called the wd hdtv (as do i). random advice about
software codecs for vlc and mplayer are just useless and a waste of time.
fyi - while not directly relevant to true blood.s03e08.720p it's worth noting...
i just risked an immerse rip for rubicon.s01e03.720p and it worked fine on the wd hdtv. immerse may
have taken note of negative comments and fixed the problem.
looks like immerse have listened and temporarily removed the header compression that was causing the
no-sound issue on wdtv etc. the below is from the nfo to this release on another tracker:
btw, one of the links has a tool for fixing 'broken' files to work with wdtv. i've tried it and it
works perfectly. only takes a few seconds too. still, it kinda feels like it'd be easier not to use
the compression in the first place, rather than expecting everyone to 'fix their players'. the
matroska dev claims that it saves space, but i dunno, my files after removing the compression are
only about 100kb bigger...
i'm with you gonda, i've got a fiber connection here and i'm topping out @ 60kb/s. hung and
entourage were lightning fast as usual however. something is jamming that tb swarm...
