shameless 2004 information from imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377260/)  comedy | drama the story of a young group of siblings pretty much abandoned by their parents, surviving by their wits - and humor - on a rough manchester council estate. whilst they won't admit it, they need help and find it in steve, a young middle class lad who falls for fiona, the oldest sibling, and increasingly finds himself drawn to this unconventional and unique family. anarchic family life seen through the eyes of an exceptionally bright fifteen year old, who struggles to come of age in the context of his belligerent father, closeted brother, psychotic sister and internet porn star neighbors. written by company pictures (website) seems strange that there is something so old just posted (by its self)... |

love it, at last the uk can pass some education in decadance back to the us, think i'll give it a miss, the uk show is bad enough, when i say bad i mean good, it sums the state of things up very well, but with enough real shameless around me i don't need to have it come indoors as well. |

well i seem to be untainted by the knowledge of seeing a uk version of this show. i will say though i really enjoyed this show based on the first episode and can see myself enjoying the troubles the family in it get up to. i like how the family seems to work in an odd unconventional. it gets my bearded seal of approval. (i hadn't even heard of the uk version before i opened the comment thing so i have no standing on if it is better or worse only that i enjoyed this) |

i only saw one episode of uk version back in 2006 on showtime but did not gave it too much thought. just finishing this us version and i love every minute of it. i am sure maybe the creator will clean up a little bit after all the rightwing conservative groups mail in their disapproval and their threats. |

i literally hated the uk series but found william h macy and emmy rossum (they're both brilliant in my opinion) too much to resist giving the first episode a look and loved it. also has joan cusack in it who is a stellar actress. |
