yeah really a masterpiece of a miniseries , i'm sorry to see it go but i like that they were uncompromising
about the quality of the writing, cast and visuals, so sacrifice of quantity for quality was worth it in this
case.
andrew scotts character is amazing, when him and sherlock met in "the great game" i knew
this was going to be a great series. you can always gauge the quality of a series by its antagonist
and moriarty is brilliant
well cumberbatch is going to be busy playing smaug and the necromancer in the hobbit as well as the
villain in the next star trek. martin freeman is plying bilbo baggins in the two hobbit films. both gonna
be tough to schedule for tv production during 2012.
a third series has been commissioned.
...production is unlikely to take place before the end of 2012 due to cumberbatch's and freeman's
other commitments, with broadcast in 2013 at the earliest.

i assumed that that was moriarty's body that was dressed in sherlock's clothes that hit the
ground. there was never a close-up, and watson never gets near the body. i'm not saying it makes
sense in a real-life way (someone would have noticed before the funeral), but that is classic tv/movie
trickery. if it's not explicitly shown, then don't believe it because the writers are simply keeping their
options open. heck, the writers themselves might not know how sherlock faked his own death yet, so
they showed us the bare minimum that they had to in order to achieve the effect they wanted, until
they start writing for season 3 and figure out how to explain it.
it's the same as agent coulston "dying" in the avengers. they never explicitly show him dying, nor do
they have the medical staff tell fury that he's dead, and it's been confirmed that he is alive in iron man
3 and the newer avengers movies.
also, if you notice, moriarty's hair is longer in this episode than the last time he was on; about as long
as sherlock's hair has always been...
