you need the rssfeed scanner plugin... follow the instructions in the second half of this http://www.eztvefnet.org/index.php?main=rss from here onwards "first instal the azureus rssfeed plugin (rssfeed scanner) by clicking plugins> installation wizard> list from sourceforge (and next)> rssfeed 1.27 then download and instal the feed scanner, you might need to restart azureus." |

wow! so there's a way to set up the rss feed without needing that irc thing and the other programmes that eztv mentions in the instructions!!! i gave up on that a while ago because i found it too complicated. i use utorrent, and it has an option for rss downlaods. but i have to write the url, of course, and that's what i don't know. can anybody tell me what url i have to write so that the downloads of the shows i choose start automatically? (i want the releases from eztv, not other sites). thanks for the help. i'm completely lost in this matter. |

a simple run through to get you started :- make sure you are logged in, then use the "my shows" link at the top of the page. from there click on the "add show" link on the left. click the "add" for each show you want to automate. if you ever want to remove a show, say you dded the wrong one, or added it twice or something just use the delete link in the "list my shows" page linked on the left. your feed has now been created, containing all the episodes of your selected shows, and can be found at the bottom of the links on the left - "rss feed". it will take you to a url like:- http://thesprawl.se/main/myshows.rss?user_id=123 (where the 123 will be your unique user id for your show list) use that url as the feed source in utorrent. one last thing to do here before you go on to create filter rules in utorrent ... on a new feed *all* available episodes for each added show will be listed at first. i'd imagine you only want new and upcoming eps, so go to the `main` page of "my shows" and mark as watched all the old ones you've already grabbed/seen. (this can be a bit time consuming - the current layout seems to thrash the database a bit. just bear with it - it will eventually update) once that's done your feed should only contain new/current episodes. from there you can now construct some filters in utorrent for each show. the help button in utorrent rss window will take you to http://utorrent.com/rsstutorial.php if you need it. that's pretty much it ! all you need to do from now on is occasionally go to your my shows/main and mark old completed episodes as watched, so it tidies them out of your feed. |

thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you so very much! now it seems much simpler than i expected. i suppose that at first i'll do something wrong and it'll download something i don't want, but it's ok. in a couple week i'm sure i'll be an expert. thanks again! |

yes, just ignore all the mirc related info... try follow this one instead... http://www.zeropaid.com/news/6411/azureus+rss+feed+made+easy just change the torrentspy stuff for eztv feed etc... no, you do not need to be logged in to eztv for the my shows feed to work. you only need to be logged in to it when setting up your shows at the begining. |

i was wondering that too. i think we need to create a filter, at least to make it so that it only downloads the quality you want, hd or hr. because we may end up with more than one version of the same episode. but i don't know how to create filters. i think you have to use some symbols or something. and another thing. how do i make it so that the download starts without me having to go to the rss feed features and select the episode? so far what i've tried doesn't make anything start automatically, i have to do it manually. thanks. |

my shows is just an edited feed, so it just gives you the info you need to download the shows you selected. it helps make it easier so there is less to filter out, than say if you got the feed from torrentspy in the example, there would be hundreds a day. you make it download without having to select them by making filters, you make filters very easily by following bellow. did you not read the link i gave (i think it might have a missed 1 step, but it has an image of a complete filter, just copy that changing the show name and any other info you want to). (http://www.zeropaid.com/news/6411/azureus+rss+feed+made+easy)? the section on 'rss feed filter'... "start by clicking the "plus" tab located towards the bottom center of the menu. now say that i want to download all the episodes of joey, for instance. first i'd name the filter "tv show," (or whatever you want to call it, you could call it joey for example) to make it clear what it is. though you can name it whatever makes it easiest for you to decipher. choose a directory to save the data to. add a filter for the show, in this case you would type the word joey (to get joey). select the rss feed url that we are to retrieve the joey episodes from (or pick all, if you have more than 1 feed to pick from). in the example here, it's the one we just set up and titled "videos." since it is a tv show that we are to download select "tvshow" under "type." here one also has the additional options of specifying season and episode numbers, as well as remembering the history of what shows have been downloaded, i.e. smart history (so it only downloads the show once). the final step is to save our selections." |

i read the link too, but i use utorrent. although i found instructions for utorrent on that site. thanks. but i think i have the same problem as macnorton. do i need to create filters for every single show that i want to download? or is it enough just by leaving it blank and only selecting the quality that i want? i hope i'm being clear with the problem. it's hard for me to explain this things in english. sorry. ---- by the way. is annybody else having problems logging in and accessing the 'my shows' section? every time i want to reply i need to log in again, and the page it sort of gets stuck. |
