i'm an american and i am really fed up with all the canceling of good shows. i watch a lot of
british and canadian shows which seem to have shorter seasons or a few episodes, kind of like
a mini series, and i enjoy them. i watch this one show called silent witness and it's still going
at 15 (short) seasons. i think that if writers here were to do a show like it's only for one
season, then if it gets canceled, at least it finished. kind of like watching a long movie and
each new season would be like a sequel.

i do agree that you shouldn't put all americans in one boat. some of us can be pretty smart at
times. :-)

aw come on guys! let's face it-- there is plenty of rubbish on tv - british, american, canadian,
austalian and everywherian. i love much the brits have to offer and yes, i think it tends to be more
thoughtful and subtle than us tv. compare prime suspect and the us version, years later! its hard
because there really is no comparison--one is truly great tv while the other is not. however, even great
british shows like silent witness get old. i have been watching it marathon style for a while, and ever
since season 9 i have been able to identify the killer in each episode at his or her first appearance in
the story. sad, really. i think it has to do with camera angles 🙂
anyway, please let this discussion get back to the merits and demerits of this particular show so folks
know whether or not they want to download it.
by the way, i agree that the police drama genre is well overdone and i relish new shows that are not
about murder investigations. not sure what to do about it though!

i am a brit and can safely say american tv series shit all over ours! most of the time brit tv series are
a bit dull some of them are great but they are rare imo. as for comedies though that's were us brits
shit all over you americans!
