it's a good thing the episodes are basically stand-alone with this p.c. bullsh*t of pulling fictional stuff
because of real life events. don't want to watch something because it might make you feel bad or sad?
don't watch it!
i get your point, yezzmann, sort of.
we don't need a babysitter deciding what we should watch. but...
twenty kids, school aged children, were murdered while at school. shortly after,
a non-cable, major broadcast network, nbc, funded by advertisers, pulled...
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
an episode about children killing other children and their families.
of course it was pulled. if you were in charge of nbc you would have
pulled it too...if you didn't, your head would roll...you would lose your job.
it's not like nbc is saying you are not adult enough to make your own
viewing decisions. they are responding to advertiser and the market.
the networks and dates i previously listed,
axn india apr 28 & axn asia apr 30
are listed for a full hour of airtime.
(minus commercials, 42 min +/- a couple minutes)
from everything i've read...
yes, it was, it was nbc who decided to pull the episode.
bryan fuller asked nbc to pull it. 😉
the decision was not bryan fuller's to make.
nbc took his request into consideration, along with the one and
only true deciding factor in the matter for nbc, money!
you make some good points dmfaust, but i don't think you're correct about ratio of blame. there are a hell
of a lot of middle aged housewives out there who apparently have nothing better to do than whip up the
outrage machine anytime they hear about something potentially unpleasant. note that i said hear, because
they rarely watch the thing they despise. nbc would want to air as much of the show as they can, since
they already paid for it - they wouldn't pull the episode unless, by their guess, it would lead to too much
outrage.
of course, nbc's guesses have been off for freaking years though :d
why was this even upped to eztv? i mean, we don't get the webrips for house of cards here as they
haven't been screened on a network - why did we get this?
i downloaded and watched this believing it to be ep4, having not read the comments beforehand was
sorely disappointed when i found out it was a 20 minute mash up of some online content - effectively
ruining half of episode 4 for me when that finally does come out.
