appreciate the upload, but is there a reason why they don't name them according to the data on
episodeworld? this is actually s07e11. and there's no reason to put the 2005 in the name. just sayin'...
because episodeworld isn't official. they probably counted the x-mas special. and they have to
denote 2005 because it isn't the first doctor who series.
usually the christmas episode is in between seasons, so i generally label it as the final episode of the
preceding season. since this time it was in the middle of the season, i simply labeled it as the next
episode in line and have been relabeling each subsequent episode accordingly.
did this episode depend on some knowledge of the original series? i'm not sure i understood what the heck was
happening for significant stretches of it. i guess i'll have to watch it again, but at first blush, not exactly a stellar episode for
me.
you really don't need to know anything from the old series here. anything that's seems unexplained is
probably setup for future episodes.
ugh, i was annoyed in the camerawork for the monster - it was awful in sunshine (which they obviously
cribbed for this, both in concept and in cinematography), and it's awful here. if you don't want to show the
monster, don't show the damn monster!
also, i reckon i finally figured clara out: ⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
clara is another "bad wolf", scattered across time by the
tardis at some future point.
i know mid-seasons doctor who episodes can tend to be blah, as they set up all the little details for the
usually-awesome season finales, but the second half of this season with clara has been pretty bad, even
by those standards. i have not enjoyed a single episode that had clara in it. usually i will rewatch an
episode once or twice, but i have not had any desire to rewatch any of the episodes with her in them.
