if you want to discuss or provide information about another torrent, a previous torrent,
please do so in the previous torrent's, or other torrent's forum. ๐
so anyone who is thinking about downloading the other torrent will see the comments.
this forum is specifically for information and comments about this torrent...not the other one.
if a tv torrent is less than 6 to 12 hours old it can be slow as the seed to peer/leech ratio is quite poor.
just have some patience, you'll get it eventually.
i saw most of the first episode of the first season and it is kind of a shock to see that this piece
crap still has an audience.. has it greatly improved?

yeah go figure, a friend of mine is a successful software engineer, you'd think he'd be intelligent enough to
see its huge flaws and gaps but for some reason he claims its good. they again he doesn't like song of ice
and fire cause he think its "soapy" ..
maybe people get used to the half assed writing and acting the more they watch until they can totally
overlook these.
then again revolution is also still on and is an equally crappy excuse for science fiction so i think maybe
there
is a whole crowd of people that are really beyond my understanding in regards to taste..
i think something got broken in the us produced science fiction industry, like all the good sf writers moved
to canada or something
your watching most of the first episode of this show (or any show for that matter) is enough to
properly criticize it? seriously? and as far as this person that has a friend thats a software
engineer... you give no reason or logic whatsoever for not liking other than the generic terms
'writing' and 'acting'. please give specific examples and comparisons to shows you think are
quality. i've only been around long enough to've watched scfi tv and film since the original bsg and
empire strikes back. however, i have read well over a thousand science fiction novels and short
stories which imho tend to be far superior to televised scifi and even film. these posts have to be
the some of the most unsupported and unsubstantiated posts i've ever read on this site. this show
started out fine and keeps getting better and better. not great mind you but much better than this
inane insistence simply using crap.
please would these posters well.... post something other then 'crap'. i'm open to constructive
criticism.
ok , do you remember that the first episode had post apocalyptic bikers zooming around our hero's
that they had kidnapped for no apparent purpose , other than making me swoon that is.. haven't we
seen that often enough , though i am glad i cant recall exactly where
i do not desire to turn this into a 'back-and-forth' thing but the example you gave me is from the
pilot. at least i assume it's from the pilot because i honestly can't remember because it's from the
pilot. over two years ago. now give me one from the second ep or the third or fourth.
one of great things about the scifi and fantasy genres is that it takes time to develop. i actually
think this is a good thing rather than trying to 'wow' the audience at first and then slack off.
firefly was an amazing show and joss whedon is a fuckin genius. buffy and angel were, and still are,
exceptional examples of this. also, you should try checking out farscape, stargate and the
contemporary (2005) doctor who.
as for bsg, i was actually referencing the original series from the '70s-'80s as far as how long
i've been watching/reading scifi. i do agree the re-envisioning version you are referencing was very
well done. i'm more into character development, dialogue and overall story lines. action and fx are
secondary.
i appreciate your citing specific examples and can tell you're a true fan of scifi. keep watching! i
really do mean that. as in, don't just watch the pilot. not just for falling skies but for any show.
if you think something sucks. say half way through the second season (if, whatever you're watching
makes it that far) then at least you can say you made the effort. ๐
i agree 100% that this show and revolution are both horribly written and an insult to intelligence,
but i can and do watch this one because i am able to get past the flaws enough to mildly enjoy it
despite all the groaning moments, unlike revolution which is completely unwatchable as is zero hour.
among my friends we jokingly call them sci-fi for jocks and reminisce when sci-fi used to be
written for the intelligent.
i attribute both to the conservative dumbing down of a segment of america, the only "war on
*fill_in_the_blank*" that is actually being won is the war on science by the fundies. i think if
you are the kind of person that can think that global warming or evolution aren't real scientific
facts then most of what is wrong with these shows will easily slip by you because you will have no
problems with science being portrayed as arbitrary or inconsistent, or with people following bizarre
prescripted thought and action sequences devoid of critical thought or self correction. just my
opinion of how these new shows are able to maintain any viewers.
sorry. forgot to mention if you're into science fiction and not scifi try david weber's honor
harrington series or robert jordan's wheel of time for fantasy. 'true' science fiction like asimov's
foundation series or frank herbert's dune series can be a bit mind bending but those are more for
the 'thinking mans (or womans) science fiction but are equally enjoyable.
:: edit i just read digitalhax post... very well put and i agree with just about everything you
said. zero hour is atrocious ( or was since it's been cancelled and relegated to a summer dump show)
and even the examples i gave for fiction aren't true thinking science fiction... just was stepping
it up a notch beyond televised scifi. try cryptonomicon. ๐ not really scifi but great thinkin
material.
