not completely accurate.george rr martin has said many times that his major inspiration has always
been "the accursed kings" books series by french novelist maurice druon .in fact martin even has a
quote on the english translation of the book - :

if so, just be aware that as it's a starz production being shown on the bbc, the version being shown
has had some censorship done to remove the more risqu
