humbug.

i think you would also enjoy the zed "documentary" about obama. it's also for low-information type
viewers.

gotta love these cultists (meaning: all religious people) that pick and choose to
justify their own base hatreds, fears and prejudices.

not all of us cultists try to justify our own base hatreds, fears, and prejudices. i like to think
that some of us cultists use our irrational religious beliefs as a guidance away from base hatreds,
fears, and prejudices. i'd invite you to re-evaluate your own prejudice against all cultists
here.

i tend to agree with basically everything redacted wrote above. i think maybe some of his words were
misinterpreted by other readers here to assume that he was claiming all christians are out to
persecute homosexuals. obviously this isn't the case, but christians are the primary obstacles to
equal rights for homosexuals in every western nation that is struggling with this issue (france &
usa in particular.) islam is another major source of bigotry related to the issue of equal rights
for homosexuals. the opposition to gay marriage in the usa and france is spearheaded, completely
funded, and organized by religionists of the christian type (if one wants to exclude mormons from
xianity, that's fine by me.) catholics are mainly to blame, but bigotry is widespread amongst
christian denominations in the usa; some sects less so than others. you can begin to see why
redacted is a bit peeved at the whole situation. take religion out of the equation and gays are
treated as equals. plug religion into the equation and you get lynchings, beatings, hatred towards
gays, and attempts to bar them from achieving equal rights.

i tend to agree with his classification of religions as cults. religion is a broad term and
encompasses many different beliefs and viewpoints, people, groups, and hatreds/tolerances. it's like
the word sports. there's badminton on one end, and thai boxing on the other; the only thing they
have in common is breathing. nonetheless, all religions as far as i've encountered incorporate
non-evidence-based believing into their group, thus irrationality and superstition, and unjustified
beliefs. this is a recipe for disaster. combine it with barbaric old texts that some people take
literally and you get some terrible events (gay lynchings, 9/11, london tube bombings, crusades of
death, suicide bombings in wedding processions against infidels, et cetera.)

take what redacted stated; most of it is blunt and true, and that hurts to hear, especially if one
is religious.

- christians have a special no no list from an invisible magic man in the sky, but many (most?) of
these xians often ignore sections of it. hence, hypocrisy.
- they cherry pick sections of their "holy" text to justify their dirty deeds and immorality quite
often. even more liberal sophisticated modern religionists do this; they cherry pick the nice bits
from their book and ignore the savage brutality that is advised (within the same book! by the same
supposedly omniscient being that inspired the book's writing!)
- these dirty deeds for centuries have resulted in the loss of life, limb, or liberty of others, and
justified by their book of multiple choice

redacted, i'm with ya brother.

as for the guy that supposedly is using his religion to further himself from hatred, violence, and
prejudice; that's great! unfortunately, if you're a christian, to do so means you must cherry pick
sections of your holy book to support your moral viewpoint and disregard whole portions of your
sacred text that advise one to express hatred, instigate violence, institute slavery, commit murder,
amongst other vile traits and acts.

redacted, if you were to rephrase your message in a way that it is includes less name-calling the
message would be a lot more digestible and understandable, and as a result it would be easier for
people to think about the content rather than the way it was delivered.
