is this a show where information from prior seasons is important to understand what is going on? or can i
start watching in season 4?

each mystery case from season 1-4 is divided into 2 parts,so basically 3x2 = 6 episodes total.
each case is different so,yes you can start watching season 4 directly but you will probably miss the
character developments of the main characters.

i agree with tatoo79 about character development. also, the first three seasons are very short
(seasons 1 & 2 are only 3 episodes each) and i found them quite interesting. i would suggest that you
start from the beginning. if you enjoy this particular style/type of tv-series, i dont think that you'll
regret watching it all.
