Witches of East End S01E01 PROPER HDTV x264-2HD

similarities in this show to charmed as what i can see on this 1 episode..

charmed - 3 sisters, powers awakening, a cop as a friend.
woee - 2 sisters and a mother, powers awakening, a cop as friend.

the problem with people, is that no matter what witch show they will air
people will now always compare it to charmed, this shows got small amounts of similarity
in it but woee is a lot darker and has that movie.. the craft, feel to it, meaning its a lot
darker, theres no way charmed would have done something like this as it was aimed as a
family show, woee is definatly aimed at adults, tho no doubt in my mind kids will watch this
show. the actings a bit wacky,, you are just pushed into the lives
of the characters so you dont get a feel in this 1st episode of being drawn to any of the
characters straight off, hopefully that will change. as for the statement about the house set,
interior, being the same.. lol.. what charmed show have you been watching?, its nothing alike,
you really cant make that statement when all you see is 2 rooms in this episode, the stairway
and the kitchen, granted.. the stairway has pictures going up the wall like in charmed but thats
it.
so.. my view on this show, as a charmed fan also, so far is its pretty good, i'm liking it, slight
similarities but thats it, the 2 shows are different in many other different ways that i wont go
into as it would be a spoiler, i'm hoping this show will grow as it goes on and hopefully it won't
turn out like secret circle, that show sucked monkey balls, i couldnt even get past episode 4,
fingers crossed this won't get cancelled.

the first disappointment in watching this show is that they are not infact cockney witches, so apparently
there is another "east end".

but then the pacing of the episode and heavy use of exposition, just ruins any hope it had of being
watchable. i really couldn't make it to the end of the episode.

the problem with people like decanos78 is they can't determine if a show is actually
an original story or just a poor clone like this show. then they want to turn it into a pissing
match where no one wins.

the similarities between charmed and this show are many. but this show is just
a bad copy. for the sake of argument let's consider the cast of characters.
out of the literally hundreds, if not thousands, of cast permutations they pick
three witches who are female, white and related. the cop is not just any cop.
he's male and black. coincidence? no. charmed clone? definitely.

and the house interior is the same set as charmed. from the front double doors to the hairpin turn
staircase to the butcher block kitchen. there aren't that many rooms on the first floor in the
charmed series.

well, argument could be made, that certain similarities are nesesery. consider that, it is stories
that have been told for ages. the women who come of an age, and it's always been a family heritage
so no wonder there are sisters. so if one tries to pick up a story about the witches, one has to
keep certain parts. if you pick up a story about the werewolf, or a vampire, crosses, garlic, silver
seems to always be part of it, so it's the story behind it is what matters most. given, sometimes
authors can come up with totally different idea, for example "once upon a time".
it's just my opinion, and i'm always trying to look past shows, that have been made earlier.
same with movies and remakes. people always saying that original was better, and refuse to judge a
movie on it's own.
