haven't seen this, but read the info and "the bridge" comes to mind. wonder what next ?? the creek

it's the british remake of the bridge. might watch it, seem's more interesting than the american one.

it is a remake of "the bridge" witch is a remake of the swedish/danish "bron"... gha

it's got the french bird from harry potter so i'll give it an episode.
but is it a remake of the original? or a remake of the remake of the original...? >_<

the tunnel (british remake of broen):

to be accurate it's a british-french remake of scandinavian crime drama the bridge (danish: broen;
swedish: bron)

stephen dillane (game of thrones) and clemence poesy (in bruges,harry potter and the goblet of fire)
are to head the anglo-french cast of the tunnel.

dillane, best known to sky atlantic viewers as game of thrones' stannis baratheon, and birdsong star
posy will play detectives karl roebuck and elise wassermann in the crime drama, which is based on
danish / swedish collaboration the bridge.

ben richards (spooks, outcasts, party animals) has headed up the anglo-french writing team behind
the 10- part series, which will be primarily set in the coastal towns of folkestone and calais

inspired by scandinavian drama the bridge, the tunnel is set against the backdrop of europe in crisis.
when a prominent french politician is found dead on the border between the uk and france, detectives
karl roebuck and elise wassermann are sent to investigate on behalf of their respective countries.
however, the case takes a surreal turn when a shocking discovery is made at the crime scene, forcing
the french and british police into an uneasy partnership.

as the serial killer uses ever more elaborate and ingenious methods to highlight the moral bankruptcy of
modern society, karl and elise are drawn deeper into his increasingly personal agenda.

a spanish-portuguese version would be cool. and feasable.

actually, i was surprised as anybody to find that the us version "the bridge" is really good. one of the
best new summer shows. quite smart and pretty brave. so i downloaded bron broen. i've only watched
the first episode but it seems like it's going to be pretty good too. so as much as i already know the story
pretty well, i will definitely give the british/french version a go.

and hopefully they'll have a better actress than diane kruger. the rest
of the american version was good, i enjoyed watching it. but whenever kruger was on, her stilted
and banal acting was painful. demian bichir was the saving grace of that show.

diane kruger's "stilted and banal acting" is deliberate because the character she is playing suffers
from asperger's, just like in the original series.

agreed. her role and acting were great.

that's in the original you say? interesting. it might work there for sweden-denmark. but i find an
asperger's detective too far fetched for the us. stigma is still huge, and she would never have been put in
charge of a taskforce(if that happened, i only watched the first ep). even then, she never would have been
there in a realistic us, the border would have called homeland or the fbi directly, not el paso.

you should watch inglorious basterds or national treasure to get an idea on her range of acting.
like others have said, that character is meant to be played like that.
