ouch, worst scottish accent ever!!!

that was the main reason i couldn't watch more than 5 minutes of it.
would have enjoyed the nostalgia otherwise.

you have to blame berman and braga far more than bakula for ruining trek.

i managed to get through 8 minutes of it.

scuse me? bakula was great! i loved 'enterprise'. at least from season 3 onwards 🙂 bakula was the
reason i watched that stuff for so long.

i liked it, proves a reasonable story over top heavy cgi can carry most things

i also enjoyed it. the production vale was at *least* as good as the original and the actors did a credible
job. i agree with froops that the story was engaging enough to keep me interested all the way through.
such dedication by the actors!

it wasn't bad.

pros
there were lots of elements of st:tos.
the sets, costumes, lighting, music were spot on.
kirk, spock and scotty were faithful to the original characters.

cons
they need a better mccoy.
spock needs a better makeup job. didn't he have green blood?
uhura was good but the other women were on the chunky side.


yes, it did sound like troi was the computer voice.

i keep being more and more impressed with this guy's kirk performance, and with this entire project in
general.

i was way better than i expected. if you can forget some moment of awkwardness and the different
faces and voices, it's almost as if star trek didn't end... almost.

the stories are not bad. the effects are poor, but still no worse than what they had half a century
ago. it was like the original series sprinkled with just a bit of the next generation, but still
with the inevitable "alternate timeline" feel that comes with different actors.

they even presented the recreational room with holoprojectors. i hope they don't mess things up
making it work too much like a holodeck.

i was surprised at this. it is very similar to the original series. the only "actor" that i felt was out of
place was grant imahara from "mythbusters". thinking he should stick to that show as his acting
ability is less than zero. good all round effort by all others though. happy to give the second
episode a spin.

wow. great stuff. i actually forgot i was watching something made recently. it captures everyone pretty nicely with the new
actors playing the leads. and like any new team, it can take a couple of episodes to get it down pat. but i am definitely
watching more and will be donating what i can. impressed trekkie.

no. it isn't. in any way. at all.

just because you can recreate the props doesn't mean you can recreate the magic. as these attempts
continue to prove over and over again.

still, their money, their time. and at least it keeps them off the streets, i guess...
