why "proper", was there an earlier bad version?

yes but it was never posted here. the original scene version had some missing dialogue and a few
other minor issues. if you did get it from somewhere else it's worth getting the proper.

if you see proper or repack in the tittle then there will always
have been a previous scene release that was bad/nuked.
in this case, like coco said, eztv had not torrented the previous
release but it was torrented by other torrent groups and posted
to other torrent sites.
