ep01 ended with an unexpected twist that was fully explained in ep02. the sets and costumes were
accurate and well done for television. there were four characters with very noir-ish lines and
delivery, which seemed on the one hand to be inauthentic, since i doubt anyone really spoke that way
in real life, but on the other hand it's appropriate to the genre. (bogart as spade, bacall as a
femme fatale, or cagney as a ruthless gangster - all gave affected non-naturalistic performances.) i
suppose the action was a bit cartoonish, but it was limited to about 2 minutes in the intro; if
you're looking for great action sequences and lots of 'em, i'd not turn to tv in the first place. i
honestly can't think of a single show worth watching for the action if you exclude animation.
i thought this was excellent. i'm looking forward to ep 3.
i liked it. it had a slow jazzy feeling to it. the music was awesome. after watching this, i wanted
to go have a drink at a jazz club! true, the pace is slower then what we see on tv right now, but we
have to think life was slower back then too. in my opinion, this will be a geat show, but not
everybody will like it. i think this show is aiming for a more mature audience. great cast of actors.
looking foward for episode 3.
can't say i like it at all. general production sets etc seem very amateurish. also most of the cast seem to
be comedy actors which never blends well when all i see them in is their comedic roles. what, hollywood
had no actors without comedy credentials available?
