"an inquisitive man sets out to find the facts about milk and discovers more about the growing
controversy surrounding it"

growing controversy?

growing controversy?

i'm sure there's going to be lots...

reviews come after viewing, don't they? -otherwise, a pointless rant- isn't it?

in the states- right or wrong -there is a growing raw-milk movement; combined with deplorable animal
husbandry practices, the "controversy" label is apt.

i don't know if i'd count that as a legitimate movement rather than nuts who've gotten children
killed from drinking un-pasteurized milk and have created an unholy alliance between radical greens
in ca and anti-gov't libertarians in nv pointed at eliminating the enforcement of food safety
regulation. there's opposition to water fluoridation in some places too, but i don't consider that a
real movement either. btw, while i understand how there're animal rights/welfare matters and
environmental issues connected to farming animals generally, i fail to see why one would indict
dairy farming in particular. if one were going to single out a particular food, i'd think pork would
be by far the worst culprit.

what i hate more than the statement, is that there is nobody ballsy enough, or
intelligent enough to call idiots that make the top statement, into account... or at least not
enough of 'em.

agreed. there's plenty of conflicts based on competing ideologies and ethical principles; it's
dispiriting when controversies are entirely the product of misinformation and could be eliminated by
appealing to facts- but people generally prefer to live in comfortable sociopolitical echo chambers.

and we have adapted to the change in our diet

that's actually a topic which could make for a really interesting doc: how our genome altered
because of dairy farming so that now the ability to digest cow's milk is considered the norm and the
absence of that ability is considered a deficiency. it's a story that shows recent human evolution
and the relationship between culture and biology 🙂

fair point, but i pay extra for every 50gb after the initial 150, so i'm not inclined to dl a film
so that i can watch for 5-15mins and confirm that i don't want to watch the whole of it.

no other animals cook their food either. should i throw out my stove? many other animals kill and eat
each other, or their offspring. i'd rather have a nice cold glass of milk than a raw slab of uncle bill or
aunt sally. and while i never tried them, i'll bet my kids taste awful!

i admit we face many problems that have to do with the ethics of food and our culture. but a quarter of
the world's population doesn't get enough to eat. so while i'm the first to admit that all the crap we put in
our food is killing us, i suspect not having food at all would probably kill us faster. so until we deal with
the 2 billion too many people occupying this fragile little globe, maybe we should put the other stuff on
a back burner?
