i always have trouble keeping aldrich ames and robert hanssen straight. and the fact that they were
both kgb/gru moles at the same time apparently made it harder for u.s. intelligence to ferret them
out. the basic things to remember are that hanssen was fbi whereas ames was cia. also, hanssen was
very clever but unbalanced and ames was greedy and incompetent.
