just... can't... do it... cap'n
gods, i'd love a new sci-fi series, but this just looks like another parody... imho, we gotta break
free of star trek and tread some new ground.
haha i was yelling out the lines that they were supposed to say for it to be a parody...
in the start of ep 1 they say "kirk - ready phasers , scotty - we dont have enough power for phasers sir,
i had to divert everything we had to life support" but scotty should had replied "we dont have enough
power for phasers sir, we barely got enough power for the red alert and this infernal alarm."
...meanwhile, there are tens of thousands of st tos fans who appreciate
and enjoy this series....otherwise they would not have received
the funding to do a second episode. haters will be haters.
very excited they did a 2nd ep.
i really enjoyed the first one, i though vig did a brilliant job all up, and you see what he
personally did to make it happen, you have to admire that.
either you'll dig it for what it is or you won't, anyone who comments on sets, costumes, etc. don't
quite understand that this is a continuation of an old show with limited productions values. they
know exactly what they are doing ๐
the one thing that give the 2 episodes a modern feel is the alternate take on a previous idea. the first
episode twisted the idea that these "gods" had to make people do their bidding to get the attention they
wanted. the second episode addresses the culture of orion and the slave trade. this is in the spirit of tos.
i'm perfectly happy with this show.

you know the term "fanboy" right? people who will like something of a certain
brand/movement/series/etc. no matter what, mostly just to put themselves on a pedestal amongst the
sh-tkickers who aren't part of their select little group. it's a special kind of sad, and those people aren't
objective unlike the casual watchers we have here on eztv.
i have all the treks on dvd, i love the series (especially the new ones), but i'm not going on about it
and i don't let it rule my life. i'm a casual fan, and therefore i can objectively say that this fan made
product is terrible. it's cheap, it's cheesy and it has no appeal to people except the small elitist trekkies
who made a sf series their life.
don't slag off people who have a genuine opinion, especially not being a mod. or, as i suspect, a
trekkie.

i have not slagged off anyone. you on the other hand, just did.
you say don't slag off, then you proceed to slag off. how very hypocritical of you.
you slagged me off, and i'm not a trekkie btw, and you slagged off, made a personal attack,
on everyone and anyone who may likes this series. you are welcome to not like this series and
express that opinion. you are not however welcome to lump together everyone who likes the
show and then proceed to slag them off.
i'll give it a try. i tried watching the earlier series, never got saw a complete episode. not really a
trekkie, but maybe the plastic titties will convert me ๐
loved the first episode. laughed all the way thru, as intended. i thought the lead actor played a convincing kirk - at times
it was uncanny. the other actors did sufficient impersonation of their respective roles to make for an enjoyable watch.
i guess i consider myself a trekkie (favourite show, seen all, etc) but is it my life? hardly. i like the show because its fun
but convincing enough to return us to the same universe, time, and atmosphere of the original series. im glad they got
enough support to produce a second episode. ultimately it comes down to personal taste and our opinions can only guide
potential viewers as to whether it might be something they would like to try. whether we "like" it or not is irrelevent as
they will make their own mind. ๐
on a side note ... i've done a little research into the background of this series and discovered some animosity exists
toward this production. i've no idea the exact nature of the complaint, but there was much online discourse.i hope with the
added exposure of being on eztv, that such postings don't find there way here .... i do so value the genuine opinions and
reviews of eztv users.
ahh, booneferry - you still love to mix it up a bit. i miss our little rants(pre moderator days). good
to see a you back in action, all be it a lot tamer than you used to be. lol
this show is a great effort considering budget and limited acting abilities. i'll enjoy hating to watch
every episode and will continue donating to the cause.
while i applaud them because it really was an excellent copy of the original... maybe even better.
but i could not enjoy it. i didn't enjoy the original, so obviously i didn't like that one either.
still... great work. and i do believe those guys deserve some praise, cause' it was some excellent job.
@scudsy
are you saying boon was a regular member here?
he he he... boon... buddy... he just totally sold you out.... ๐
