you'd have to be a serious sw fan to overlook the horrible production value of this film. acting,
camera work and cg are all pretty bad. on the plus side there is no jar-jar.
what is the skenvi empire? why do they make up a group of people when the star wars
universe
allready has several powerful groups.
seems like a filler villan
chances are likely that the film's writers chose a made up race for one or both of two reasons:
a) to avoid potential copyright infringements by not using a particular name (and before you ask, yes,
copyright can be so detailed and finicky that a work can be produced using all but certain key words and
phrases, but still be set in the same universe and use other terms), or possibly as copyright may require
them to pay for certain usage, and/or,
b) making up their own race allows them to save time/effort/writing/filming/makeup/effects/money by not
using an existing race from a period around 100 years after rotj. if they did use an existing race, they'd
also have to get everything accurate about it, which requires a lot more effort and writing ability to satisfy
the nerds than to just use your own stuff.
that's a big plus side. unfortunately, there's even worse than jar jar. i'm painting a pretty dark
and horrifying picture here, but think about... jar jar + sharknado = jarnado!
i understand fans need to create ever more to the thing they idolize, but generally those products
leave others than hc fans cold. hope fully someone enjoys this, while i will blissfully skip it. 😉
