why so many breaks?

i noticed that several networks are taking a break next week and airing repeats.
breaks are usually a short quarterly season break/vacation, official holidays, important political
debate being shown an multiple channels, or a major even that other channels don't want to
compete with (usually sports or awards shows), but this time around i have no idea. [shrugs]
