Da Vincis Demons S02E03 HDTV x264-KILLERS

the audio on this show is the worst of all shows that i dl. it is so bad that i may have to discontinue it,
because, even at the highest volumes i can set in vln, and with my speakers as high as they can go
without feedback, i can barely hear most of it, and totally miss some of the dialogue.

any suggestions that might help me on this, and other shows, that dl with inadequate volume?

dfx from fxsound is a great little program that not only has a dynamic boost, that boosts the sound
without clipping or feedback or distortion but also recovers sound detail lost due to the compression and
can also add some extra bass. and if all that was not enough it has a setting for speech i.e. movies etc that
makes dialog pop out. i used to have exactly the problem that you are facing now and was not happy with
the sound that vlc produced when the volume was above 100-105% so i did some research and found
this.

i have been using it for close to 10 years now and i am really happy with the results. it used to be a wmp
plugin but now it is system wide which means that you have the benefits for your browser (youtube,
pandora, netflix, hulu, vimeo, last.fm, amazon.com, facebook, yahoo!, tunein radio, vevo, itunes
trailers...) media players etc (itunes, spotify, windows media player, skype, virtualdj, vlc media player,
winamp, quicktime player, realplayer, divx player, gom player, jetaudio...)

try it with a song that you have in both mp3 128 bit rate and in some lossless format like flac and i think
that you will find that it transforms the mp3 to a point that it is almost indistinguishable from the lossless.
