i agree with the others: the hr version looks noticably better on a 32" lcd and
shows a tremendous improvement on larger screens. and if you are going to
archive them to dvd, why archive the inferior quality?

yep standard does me fine... i delete them after i watch them anyway, so if i
did want to keep them for the sake of keeping them, id go out and buy the dvd
when theyre released.
even back in the olden days of vhs, id reuse the tape, wouldnt keep a shelf full
of tapes just for the sake of it.
either way, kudos to all who up and who seed !!! 8]
what is the resolution on a dvd anyway, because on my 20.1 widescreen all xvid
& divx rips look pretty nasty at the monitor's native res of 1680 x 1050.

the most obvious thing for me is it is 5.1 ac3 instead of
stereo.
is it a proper 5.1 sountrack? i have never tried to figure it out because i
get a dummy 5.1 track from the smaller encodes because its stereo surround but
if it is proper 5.1, its worth the extra megs.
