this and the last one were both directed by amanda tapping (aka sg-1's samantha carter).
i think that this whole season has been great. s01 & s02 were kind of rote: initially 'catch the
liber8 bad guy' and then 'prevent the liber8 attack'.
things got slightly better when ⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
alec's stepfather was killed and his half brother was radicalized into the future theseus,
but for my money, the real turning point that made things get more interesting was when ⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
the freelancers killed emily.
that's allowed the time traveling to become more interesting because it's not being treated as a
'one off' just for kiera and liber8. it's not just a singular occurrence only used in the pilot
because it sets up the premise. instead, anyone can alter the timeline however they like as long as
they have a power source and access to a macguffin.
plus, the moral ambiguity evident in the choices made by kiera, alec, julian, emily, dillon, betty,
the 3 sane liber8ers, the police department, the corporations, the freelancers - hell, everyone
except straight arrow carlos - is being explored more fully- whereas it was only glancingly
addressed before.
