this is the story of the dream that rose up in the 1990s that computers could create a new kind of
stable world. they would bring about a new kind global capitalism free of all risk and without the
boom and bust of the past. they would also abolish political power and create a new kind of
democracy through the internet where millions of individuals would be connected as nodes in
cybernetic systems - without hierarchy.

agree with redjade.. everyone especially americans (we sadly are the most brainwashed) should see

started watching "the century of the self" recently and i am completely and totally blown away. i can't
even believe that i didn't know about any of this. i am now voraciously hungry for more adam curtis
documentaries. i hope we can get "the power of nightmares" and "the trap: what happened to our
dream of freedom" on here.
