Matador US S01E01 HDTV x264-QCF

while i haven't seen this show or know anything about it i feel i am decidedly qualified to comment.
from the synopsis i gather that <insert fact here> and <insert specious fact here> which means that
<insert speculation based on false logic>!!! i can't believe it either.

judging this book by its cover, the production team shouldn't have bothered making this show.

this taking the whole dual-identity thing juuuust a bit too far?

the name of the show is matador but it doesn't look like a killer show 😉 😛

nigh shift is apparently making someone some money
because they renewed it for a fourteen episode second season.
personally i find that show repulsive and insulting. but as long
as someone enjoys it and they're making money doing it...

why is it always ether a hopeless loser with a dead-end job and a crappy marriage or a superplayboy who
is a spy and an athlete?
can't we have characters that are more complex then "the guy i wish i wasn't" and "the guy i wish i was"
taken to the extremes?
well, not always, obviously, there is plenty of good tv.
but still, someone writes this and shows this to somebody and that somebody approves and funds it,
oblivious to the fact he is funding someone's wet dream.

night shift is another one of these. absolutelly shameless mary-sue self-inserts. president quarterback who
can dance, cook, fights in ufc, served in iraq and has a huge penis? fire up the cameras!

well, i just watched it. it's certainly not as good as alias, or even undercovers.

it's an odd show. it's 48 minutes long. the first 10 were quite violent and bloody, but everything
after that was tame with only what standards and practices might call 'adult themes' (ie, implied or
mentioned sex or violence that isn't actually portrayed).

the performances are for the most part wooden but not awful. the writing is what you would expect
from a straight to video movie, including a b-movie classic: mastery of sport through the magic of
montage.

the characters are cartoonish. that's not hyperbole. the last 38 minutes could easily be made into a
cartoon (all 48 if it's on fx or adult swim) and the characters would be more fitting than they are
with live action. there's a beckham inspired character played by an australian actor which is
especially bad.

maybe 12 year old boys into soccer would like this show.

i will give them points for coming up with a clever episode title, though - quid go pro

this is a dreadful load of exploitative rubbish.
quite clearly the makers are aiming it at the latino population of the usa, who are all,
patronisingly, assumed to be soccer fans. (they would however, realise that a professional soccer
player may not be constructed by a few sessions kicking around in an abandoned warehouse)
the plot (!) is dire and the acting is pathetic.
there are more holes and anomalies in the script than may be counted.
this is to be avoided at all costs - even if one is a tv couch potato.

i would rather poke holes in my eyes with a red-hot icepick than watch a second episode of this
complete pile of horse manure.

as a brit who has been a soccer/football fan for over 45 years i can tell you that the game is
cheapened by this attempt to bring it to the us masses.

dont bother!

go pluck out your nasal hair with a pair of tweezers, it will be much more satisfying

i thought i'd try watching this series. the first ep wasn't horrible. by the second ep i got too annoyed by
the over the top product placement advertising of heineken. i get the billboards on the soccer field, but
when every other actor drinks heineken??? come on. there were plenty of other product placements as
well.

well at least now you know where they are getting their funding for a second season.
