... why not add it now despite its not being current?
because we were not able to obtain the scene files to create our own torrent.
okey dokey. 🙂
how is what i download different from a scene file?
i'd thought that saying something is a scene file meant only that it's a file from a scene release group
as opposed to a non-scene source. (maybe 'internal's are excluded too?) are the files you linked to
at tpb non-scene? they say lol in the filename.

there is more to it, but here is a summary...
scene groups cap, encode, rar, and share files amongst themselves only...not the general public.
common scene group names: 2hd, dimension, lol, batv, bajskorv, w4f, killers
torrent groups, locate leaked scene releases, create their own torrents, & share with the public.
common torrent grous: eztv, ettv, vtv, tvteam, rarbg.
eztv only torrent scene releases. however, some torrent groups will also torrent veteran
(sometimes ex-scene members) non-scene releases...usually from msd, afg, fum, who obtain
scene releases and re-encode them to xvid/avi to satisfy those who are living in the past (lol), or
to achieve a very small file size (low resolution) to accommodate those with bandwidth or storage
concerns.
so, if you download a torrent that contains a folder with sfv, nfo, sample, multiple rar, & par2
files then that torrent may contain a complete scene release...but if the uploader or torrent
group has modified the contents or added their own txt file to promote themselves or their site,
then it is no longer a true original scene release. torrents release by torrent groups generally do
not meet eztv's requirements.

i'm grateful they do bc i have bandwidth concerns and they sometimes offer mvg releases at 1/4 the
size. i don't need high resolution when most of a show is historians or scientists talking to a
camera 🙂

so, even though the tvteam torrent is of the same video file as the torrent eztv has now, is it that
you just need the other stuff (sfv, par2, etc.) or is it that eztv only distributes stuff that it
gets from the special scene servers (topsites?).
the first option seems comparable to refusing to sell something if there's no inspection tag or
safety seal- basically a quality assurance measure
the second option seems more like the legal concept that a 'chain of custody' needs to be unbroken
for evidence to be admissible in court
