is there any reasoning behind lol capturing their video at 624x352? this
aspect ratio is not quite 16:9 by just a pixel and it might led to problems
with some software/hardware.

math below:

16/9 = 1.77778
624x352 = 1.773
624x351 = 1.77778

im not sure how that would be lol's fault... are you trying to say they add in a
pixel that wasnt there from the source?.. what exactly are you accusing them
of?.. isn't 16:9just a rounded-off estimate anyway?

16/9 = 1.77778
624x352 = 1.773
624x351 = 1.77778


when the resolution is devided by 16, a whole number must be the result. it is a
fairly basic rule in ensuring (in the past) that an xvid, divx etc file is playable.

so, 624/16 = 39
352/16 = 22
351/16 = 21.9375

if you are that concerned, use vlc or zoom player to make the aspect ratio 16:9.

btw, 16:9 is an exact ratio, not an approximation

the 16 division makes sense. why not make cap it at 608x336 like xor does,
exact 16:9 and divisible by 16.

i prefare the lol screen size to the xor screen size, only becuase, if you try
and put an xor release on a dvd it is in the middle of the screen and it is like
sort of pushed together. and lol is normal.

btw, anyone know how to stop this happening with xor's?

divisible by 16 is the rules and standard for the scene. also, a +-5% ar
difference is allowed in the scene. same reason why most hr.hdtv's (cept ctu)
are 960x544 (as opposed to 960x540). the ar discrepancy of 624x352 res is
nothing at all. it does not cause problems, whereas an odd resolution could
cause problems with decoding on some older systems.
