yeah the tracker is down for me on mythbusters... unfortunant cause i was really
looking forward to watching that today. anyone know another tracker?
briandomag: dht isn't the answer as the performance is grately reduced compared
to that of a torrent where the tracker is working, also i use utorrent but i
have found that having dht on floods my modem with too many connections and all
my downloads barely make it about 8kb/s which is painfully slow for a 1mbt
connection

i've noticed that too. i always turn the dht off because i think it slows down
my downloads.
although sometimes it's strange because i turn it off, but later it turns on
by itself.
no... dht is not the problem with that.... what the problem is, is you have your
setting for maximum global connections set too high, and are choking your
connection.. yes the dht being enabled affects this because it gives you more
peers.. but its not the actual culprit to the problem.. the max global cons is.....
read the faq at the utorrent site...
learn the intricacies of what all your settings do.
dht really is the answer.. and if you have your settings correct.. you'll get
the same speeds with or without it... and never even notice when trackers go
down anymore..
eztv use loads of different trackers and most fail even worse is when the
tracker is there but the file on the tracker is deleted. one example is
torrentteam eu tracker which eztv used for a month after bt-chat.com trackers
failed now every torrent linked to that tracker has to be dht
ps azureus users can set dht to be used only when the tracker fails so you wont
get kicked from any private site torrents your running at the same time.
