how is a fifteenth century village a "modern marvel"?
sure, in the relative terms of world history it's a blink of an eye, but
history channel has rarely lived on that level of historical awareness
interesting in any case

modern marvels does tend to stick with things that have been built or done past
the industrial age (with of course the pre-industrial and post-enlightenment
histories and whatnot). but sometimes they'll pick something that has survived
through to modern times. i love the show so i'm not going to be too picky. 🙂
