judging by the lenght seems hdtv is edited again as last season. so it's dsr
and full lenght or hdtv and cut.

how much of a difference?
is it actually difference in the show or merely difference based on
credits/intro timeing

well, that sux. i watched the sd version already, but if they're cutting the
hdtv for any reason, i won't bother waiting in the future.

there's about a 2.5 minute difference so who knows really what the difference is.

i did a rather tedious comparison last season and yes they are actually cutting
dialog. no, it's not much, and they did a good job of it, but still...

no perfect choices on this one i'm afraid.

wait, so is there more dialogue in the hdtv version or the other one?

well chib, it wouldn't be much of a dilemma if the hdtv version was the better
one in every respect, now would it?

i'm not sure what dialogue is missing. the hdtv version plays faster than the
dsr one.

if you sync both to the same point of play the hdtv version will within a few
seconds be ahead of the dsr version. this might explain the shorter running time.

so, it's normal that its runtime is shorter??

can anybody agree with what seryus said?

does this mean the hdtv version has a higher framerate? the sdr version is
23.976 fps.

who's seryus?

i found the same thing when comparing the extended version of the season 1
finale to the hdtv version - the actual added material was only a few minutes
but because the two files were encoded at different bitrates they often moved
out of sync when there were no differences and both files had the same frame rate.

i wouldn't have thought the bit rates of the encoded files would have made a
difference as they both play at the same rate.

what could play a role is the frame rate of the original broadcast.
if abc broadcasts at a different frame rate than abc family then a different
running time will be a result - just like it would for a uk pal broadcast of the
same material.

but what do i know...i could just be oozing this out a southern orifice.

will abc be airing hdtv versions of all episodes or was this a one off kind of
thing to get regulat abc fans to watch it on abc family?
