according to the calender, theres 1 supposed to have aired yesterday, and one to
air today

dont they usually get shown on ctv before, so 1 should have released on
saturday, and the next one yesterday ??

the airing yesterday is from canada - which is the same episode that would air
tonight on nbc, if it wasn't for the 'special' airing of friday night lights in
60's usual time slot.

edit: it didn't air in canada last night so no studio 60 this week at all.

ctv didn\'t run an episode on sunday according to their website:
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/articlenews/show/ctvshows/20060918/studio60--home/20061026/

the next ctv episode showing is sunday nov 5 at 10pm et - entitled \"nevada day
part i\". here in the states, the next show is a week from tuesday ( they are
slotting friday night lights into the slot ).

rumor has it, that studio 60 is about to be cancelled, not enough of an
audience, and it is expensive. this follows the news that three more episode
scripts had been ordered by nbc. the suspicion is that this step was taken to
fulfill some contract obligations.

i certainly hope that if it gets the axe, that some contract language requires
that the additional episodes be made for foreign markets ( read ctv ), and we
end up being able to see those three final episodes. anyone know how many are in
the can already? imdb and epguides appear to agree, we have two more episodes to
go ( nevada day 1 & 2 ).

finally the series is hitting (imho) on all six cylinders, shame to see it end,
but at eight episodes, it ran longer than fox would have let it.

i b bummed.

it's such a shame that they're ending it!! was really good to see some well
written drama! tbh i don't think they gave the show enough of a chance - if
there hadn't been such hype before its release i think it would have faired
better... just when it was starting to get interesting ☹️

noone writes like aaron sorkin ,this sux and it's sad that this show is too good
for nbc's viewers i guess we'll have to "enjoy" jerico,er,l&o,friday ... and all
that average crap.
i hope sorkin comes with something else soon and maybe this time he'll go with
showtime or hbo if his dialogues are too good for nbc

the critics seem to agree, that the writing and dialog, acting, and production
values are all first rate - that the show is a class act. but that the setting
of backstage at an snl like show is just not really connecting with viewers.
they don't find it compelling drama.

this is evident because of the audience drop of from heroes to studio 60 is
dramatic, people are either tuning out or over to the csi franchise on monday
nights.

it is ironic, one of the story lines on studio 60 is peet's ( network president
) purchasing of a young writers quality series based on united nations, that he
had planned on selling to hbo. at no point is the caveat of "well, if we can't
get you an audience, you are screwed" presented.

personal rant:

everything flows to the boulevard provided that it matches the tastes of some
box weilding chuckleheads who don't know from good.

wouldn't be the first time a fantastic show is cancelled, and certainly wont
be the last. i've said it before and i'll say it again, people have no taste.

that really sucks. the only new show i like is studio60... heroes are a litle
vanity fair for me. i have no idea what's happening to people in the world if
they'd rather watch friday night lights.

from imdb

nbc universal ceo robert wright has denied reports that aaron sorkin's studio
60 on the sunset strip is about to be canceled. in an interview with
foxnews.com's roger friedman, who originally quoted insiders as saying that
the show was about to be yanked from the network's schedule, wright said such
a move was unlikely because "we have too much money invested in it. ... i
think it will go on."

...and well, i believe what i want to believe
