is samantha who 4 or 8 episodes remaining i'm confused now
[#67625] Written by: skyeater3 [10/11/2007, 18:58]
i think that info is 'this is how many episodes are left' as of thursday 8th
november.

sorry for causing confusion.

although... some of them do quite clearly list a number of eps taped out of a
series total order. so... i don't know.

i trust michael ausiello more than digitalspy... sorry... and this
just came
out today...

i was just relaying this info from another site, as there were a few series
listed in it that the main article didn't have (not any i watch i don't think,
but i was just trying to be helpful :s). before then i can't say i'd even heard
of digitalspy so i have no idea how accurate their info may be. but, yeah, i
agree with you - go by the original piece.

i know it's not a long term solution, but doesn't it seem like most of these
shows have enough episodes to last them till the december break anyway? and then
they can show reruns for all of december, hopefully they can decide to share the
ridiculous dvd-internet ad profits with the writers before the new year.

by the way, new tv vocabulary i just saw, a new term they needed for the current
situation. they are calling the next episode of prison break the "fall finale"

here's an update:

aliens in america: seventeen episodes will be produced. six episodes have aired,
so there are 11 left.

life is wild: twelve episodes will be produced. six episodes have aired, so
there are six left.

one tree hill: twelve episodes will be produced. none have aired yet, so there
are twelve episodes left.

just for clarification... "will be produced" isn't the same as "taped" or "in
the can" or "recorded"... correct?

skyeater3's post would be more informational than the original news article.

(not to bash prkan!! i love reading the stories!)

my question is though:

will the seasons continue, or be cut short. i know that they can only air what
has been produced, but once they sort all of their problems out, what will
happen? some shows only fall short by a couple of episodes, whereas other
(more popular shows, eg. house, bones, grey's etc) have at least half of the
season to go. i wonder what will happen to the shorter season shows in
particular? many of these are new this fall. i wonder whether it will have a
detrimental effect on their future?

well one thing that occurs to me about the new shows is that the cast probably
won't have been on long term contracts so there is the possibility that if the
strike drags on they may have to find other work to pay the bills, films or
theatre, and won't be availbale for a restart. if the studios are smart they
will have covered themselves for that but then if they were smart we probably
wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

i don't understand why they are cutting the seasons short... surely they finish
the shows for summer and rerun them till fall. why not just do the reruns now
and run shows into the summer.
most finish way before that anyway. heroes for instance... why not just pause
production and then start up again where they left off. what's the point in just
cutting half a season and renaming the second half.
and lost.. that's 8 short anyway. they have two month wiggle room. just make
them into that massive gap over the summer.
