don't be an idiot and knock it before you've even watched it. i was prepared to
say it sucked but it was actually really good. if this was the exact same as
the original there would be no point in remaking it, you could just pop in an
old tape and see the exact same thing in grainier quality.
anywhere i read, i read this to be a tv movie.. not the
beginning of a new tv show.. can anyone confirm or anything?
it's a back door pilot, meaning that if enough people watch it and like it, it
could be picked up for a series.
i watched it earlier today and it's terrible, worse than bionic
woman. the one bright side is that they do keep continuity with the previous
show and the hoff does make an appearance as michael knight.
i loved knight rider the tv series but i have to say this was a pretty bad
movie. i read about all the hate posts people had towards the thing before it
even aired. some people just downright hated it without even having seen it
first. well i saw it, and i have to say it wasn't that good. production values
seem to have been pretty low. they were on sets a lot of the time and at one
point when kitt was traveling through the desert on the road from an aerial
view, you can tell the car wasn't even real. it was cgi'ed in. the freakin
camera work was horribad. when the car action sequences pick up, they keep
cutting/editing the scene with a different shot every 2 seconds. they don't even
stay on a shot for more than two seconds. that was annoying as hell. the story
was pretty blah too. typical enemies with typical agendas trying to start a war
or whatever.
maybe the series, if there's gonna be one, will be better.
what in the name of all that is holy compelled some exec to say, lets remake
this? it was predictable, execrable plotting, cheesy dialog, bad physics and
nothing at all suspenseful.
what got into the heads of the folks, including val kilmer, to even consider
engaging in this dog.
now what would have been cool, if val kilmer had again channeled john holmes (
or the character from salton sea ) to make kitt a junkie, say a nitrous
fiend...enticing ms. russo to slowly shed her toggs. now that would have been
good television.
consider this next to the beeb\'s new series that premiered today, the last
enemy, techy, spooky, and engaging, in a world not wholly populated by two
dimensional, beautiful, skin cancer browned humans,
this looks to be great! love the new car.
everyone who knows about the original knight rider series has to be getting
pretty old by now like me. series started in 1982.
if we all were to see the original version now we would think its pretty lame.
i'm glad to see the new generation of youngsters will able to enjoy this series.
