sounds great, except that when masters of horror aired on showtime, it had blood
and gore and cursing and tits.

i'm guessing nbc will have none of these.

epic fail

deer woman was absolutely hilarious, i'd love to see another john
landis short
horror entry.

and it is all about the quality of the story, the blood and gore didn't make
most of the masters of horror series good, and it could have easily been toned
down or outright left out in the better pieces(dreams in the witch house and
deer woman for example). i'd even go so far as to say it might help since they
can't rely on random slasher pieces(which are the lowest form of horror).

besides, tales from the crypt? syndicated. the outer limits(or the horror-ish
episodes of it at least)? syndicated. both new and old. old school twilight
zone even. all superior to masters of horror.

also the network episode length will be nice. the full hour on showtime was
simply waaaaaaay too long for some of those pieces and they drug on or were
needlessly slow trying to fill it while they would have come across far better
in the 30 minute format of tales from the crypt and what not.

i'll certainly agree that deer woman was a great episode, even without much gore
or cursing (but *with* tits).

but some of your other facts are wrong: tales from the crypt originally aired on
hbo, outer limits (the 90s version) aired on showtime. both of those shows
suffered when they were syndicated, since they were cut for length, and also for
content. the syndicated versions are much weaker than the originals.

some of the best moh episodes, in my opinion: dance of the dead, jenifer,
homecoming, haeckel's tale, and the v word. there's no way any of those could
air on network tv.

nbc may bill this as a horror show, but i bet they're really going to aim for
sci-fi scares, like twilight zone or amazing stories. and it's going to fail.
