spoiler alert!!! i watched the first hour with absolutely no sympathy for the lead character,
after her son died and the writers decided we didn't need to actually see the family in pain or suffer
through a funeral. had we been given a chance to actually see the family interact at some level
other than always fighting, we might have developed an ounce of interest in what actually
happened to them. they jumped ahead to the "i am out of my mind with grief" point that all law
enforcement types on tv and the movies seem to end up in. she comes across more as a crack or
meth addict than a grieving mother and there are no characters that are even slightly likeable or
believable, except possibly her teenaged daughter. neither of her fellow detectives have any
personality and both come across as crooked, but not interesting enough to make you want to see
why, how or if they come to justice.
i couldn't even force myself to watch the second hour and that is sad, because there are very few
police shows i won't at least watch. i won't waste my time watching this show any more, as there
are too many other shows to choose from and while my time may not be valuable, i can't justify
watching a show where i hope the main character gets killed in the first episode...
as for those comparing this show to banshee, there is no comparison. this show is so bad,
banshee would get a slew of emmy's before this show lasted a season...
well definately no wire but better than banshee. will watch the first season..
huh. i admit banshee is not very good. yet i've found it oddly compelling enough to watch. it's
become a guilty pleasure for me. so far yours is the only comment that's made me want to try and
watch an episode.
however, i am getting tired of doctors, lawyers, cops and gangsters. the genres are becoming
clich
